20,000 organizations from over 170 countries celebrated Global Entrepreneurship Week

  • During Global Entrepreneurship Week 2019, over 35,000 events will be organized with the aim of fostering entrepreneurial culture and connecting local entrepreneurial ecosystems.
  • The Global Entrepreneurship Network, promoter of Global Entrepreneurship Week, anticipates that the celebration will connect over 10 million people worldwide.
From November 18 to 24, 2019, over 20,000 organizations will celebrate the 12th edition of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2019 (GEW 2019) in more than 170 countries with the aim of fostering entrepreneurial culture and connecting local entrepreneurial ecosystems. The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), the platform driving the global entrepreneurial ecosystem and organizer of Global Entrepreneurship Week, anticipates that over 35,000 events and activities will be held worldwide during the week, with more than 10 million people participating. Through the activities and events of Global Entrepreneurship Week, organizations will strengthen their relationships, connect with new audiences, and have the opportunity to identify potential collaborations. In Spain, GEN promotes various programs and activities under the name GEN Spain and is led by Autoocupació, a private non-profit foundation that promotes self-employment as an attractive alternative for pursuing professional vocations. Global Themes 2019

The 12th edition of Global Entrepreneurship Week gives special prominence to four key global themes for the entrepreneurial ecosystem: Education, Ecosystem, Inclusion, and Policy.
  • GEW Education: Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrates the tools and programs used by different communities to improve resource sharing, entrepreneurial awareness, and the provision of tools to boost the entrepreneurial world.
  • GEW Ecosystem (entrepreneurial ecosystems): Inspiring communities to collaborate and share their networks and markets to foster business development and growth, one of the main objectives of GEW 2019.
  • GEW Inclusion (social inclusion): This year, Entrepreneurship Week will emphasize the improvements being made worldwide to minimize barriers and obstacles for entrepreneurs by maximizing their inclusion.
  • GEW Policy (political support): The importance of governments and legislators is key to helping entrepreneurs everywhere start and scale their businesses. For this reason, GEW 2019 will highlight the role that these actors play in the development of entrepreneurial initiatives.
