  • The President of Autoocupació, Albert Colomer, and the Secretary of Autoocupació, Tirso Gracia, have participated in the Employability Roundtable: Results of Postgraduate Training.
On March 27, 28, and 29, the Autonomous University of Barcelona hosted the XVIII edition of the RUEPEP Conference, Red Universitaria de Estudios de Posgrado y Educación Permanente (University Network for Postgraduate Studies and Permanent Education), a network that promotes contact between Spanish universities through the themes of postgraduate studies and permanent education. This year, the conference focused on the quality and employability of postgraduate studies, with the aim that university postgraduate programs have a significant impact on the employability of their students. Within the framework of the conference, this Friday, March 29, the “Employability Roundtable: Results of Postgraduate Training” was held at the Casa de la Convalescència in Barcelona. Participants included the President of Autoocupació, Albert Colomer, and the Secretary of the foundation, Tirso Gracia, as well as the former Deputy Director General of Student Support, Guidance and Professional Integration and Director of the UB Student Observatory, Àngels Alegre, moderated by Lucila Finkel, Rector’s Delegate for Permanent Education, External Internships, and Employability at the Complutense University of Madrid. The roundtable debated topics such as the employability of permanent training, optimal training models to achieve it, methodologies for analyzing the effectiveness of these models and the employability of postgraduate studies, and the role of universities in developing professional competencies. With this type of colloquium, the University Network for Postgraduate Studies and Permanent Education aims to propose a future vision, in the perspective of a changing labor market where professionals will frequently need to train, which will imply that universities have the capacity to offer permanent, transversal, interdisciplinary, social, innovative, and technological training programs that can respond to the needs of current society.
