Business Creation

The business creation service offers a personalized and fully subsidized support service throughout the self-employment itinerary, with the aim of turning entrepreneurs’ business ideas into viable and successful companies. During 2022, Autoocupació’s business creation service assisted 459 entrepreneurs, advising them on the creation of their business plan, market research, and the viability of their entrepreneurial project, and collaborated in the creation of 78 new companies, generating more than 100 new jobs.  

Training

Autoocupació is committed to occupational training for active and unemployed individuals as a way to help them achieve their professional goals. It also offers the possibility of undertaking internships in companies through Professional Certificates. During 2022, the training service reached nearly 6,000 trained students: specifically, 5,795 students took part in one of the 377 Autoocupació courses held during the year. This translates to a total of 25,639 training hours delivered in Virtual Classroom, E-learning, and face-to-face formats across the Foundation’s four branches.

Mentoring

Since 2013, Autoocupació has offered personalized support through its mentoring service, where business owners and professionals act as volunteers to share their experience with young entrepreneurs, helping them consolidate and grow their businesses. To date, a total of 1,484 entrepreneurs and 1,127 businesses have participated in the program, supported by a total of 807 volunteer mentors, 601 of whom remain active. More specifically, during 2022, the service established 221 new mentoring relationships and helped support 216 businesses. During the year, 308 young entrepreneurs participated in the program and up to 207 mentors started a new mentoring process.

Reempresa

Reempresa, the initiative by Patronal Cecot and Autoocupació, reaffirms its position as the marketplace for business transfers in Catalonia. During 2022, a total of 463 successful business transfers were achieved, with 1,335 jobs safeguarded. Autoocupació closed the year for the Reempresa service with 974 transferors and 1,169 re-entrepreneurs.

Financing 123 associated investors

In turn, the financing service, the Business Angels Network of Catalonia (BANC), closed the year of its 19th anniversary. During 2022, BANC helped the entrepreneurial ecosystem obtain funding, specifically achieving €292K in equity and 1,140K in innovation funding through alternative financing. BANC incorporated a total of 50 projects into its network during the year and had a total of approximately 100 associated investors.  

Guidance

Autoocupació also offers a personalized information, professional guidance, and job search support service for all individuals, whether unemployed or active, who are facing a job placement or career change process. During 2022, up to 1,803 people received guidance and support, of whom more than 150 successfully entered the labor market.
