The Barcelona Youth Employment Fair, held between March 14 and 16 at Fira Barcelona, has concluded its first edition with nearly 10,000 visitors, exceeding initial forecasts of 7,000 visitors. Specifically, 7,200 people registered, with the rest accessing it from the Education Fair. Barcelona Activa and the Youth Department were the organizers of the initiative. The Youth Employment Fair featured 8 different areas: Coneix, Apropa’t, Descobreix, Salta al món laboral, Assessora’t, Comparteix and Emprèn. All areas served as advisory points for young people aged 16 to 35 in various fields, aiming to offer them information and resources to access potential career paths and combat youth unemployment. During the three days of the event, more than 200 activities were organized by the exhibiting entities. Autoocupació proposed a total of 3 activities, two of them linked to the Emprèn area, an advisory space for young entrepreneurs, and one linked to the Apropa’t area, a space for third-sector entities and their training, job placement, or educational opportunity projects. The Youth Employment Fair is part of the Plan for the Promotion of Quality Youth Employment 2016-2020 and was held concurrently with the Education Fair and the Futura Fair, aiming to complement its offerings and position itself as a source of opportunities and a guide for all young people who wish to start or improve their professional career.
