Autoocupació generates more than 2,300 jobs during 2018

Business Creation

The business creation service offers personalized and fully subsidized support during the self-employment journey, with the aim of transforming entrepreneurs’ business ideas into a viable and successful company. During 2018, Autoocupació’s business creation service assisted 731 entrepreneurs, developed a total of 68 business plans, and collaborated in the creation of 79 new businesses, generating more than 120 new jobs.

Training

Autoocupació is committed to vocational training for active workers and unemployed individuals as a way to help them achieve their professional goals. It also offers the possibility of undertaking internships in companies and an occupational guidance service. During 2018, the training service exceeded 2,000 trained students: Specifically, 2,393 students attended Autoocupació’s courses, 65% of whom entered the job market, securing more than 1,550 occupied positions. Throughout the year, 126 training activities were offered, which translated into a total of 13,403 hours of training delivered across Autoocupació’s four delegations.

Mentoring

Since 2013, Autoocupació has offered personalized support through its mentoring service, where volunteer entrepreneurs and professionals share their experience with young entrepreneurs to help them consolidate and grow their businesses. 2018 was a key year for the mentoring service with the celebration of 5 years of the program at Autoocupació: After 5 years, 450 young entrepreneurs have participated in the mentoring program and 351 new businesses have been supported by 312 volunteer business owners in Catalonia. More specifically, during 2018, the service initiated 94 new mentoring relationships and contributed to generating more than 150 jobs. Throughout the year, 158 young entrepreneurs and 396 mentors participated in the program.

Reempresa

Reempresa, the initiative by Patronal Cecot and Autoocupació, reaffirms itself as Catalonia’s business buying and selling market. During 2018, Autoocupació contributed to achieving a total of 112 successful business transfers, safeguarding 330 jobs. Autoocupació closes the year for the Reempresa service with 1,306 sellers and 2,372 buyers.

Financing

In turn, the financing service, the Business Angels Network of Catalonia (BANC), closed its 15th anniversary year. During its 15 years of operation, BANC has invested in 71 projects and reached the figure of €12M in equity and an accumulated investment of €300,000. During 2018, the network had a total of 123 associated investors, incorporated 34 projects, and accumulated an investment potential of €22,000,000, generating more than 150 jobs in this service.
