  • Launch of the first entrepreneurship program specializing in business tourism and virtual and augmented reality in Catalonia
  • The Enginy project leverages firaReus’s position in the MICE sector and will offer training in virtual and augmented reality and business management
Autoocupació, together with Redessa, is promoting the program Enginy: Acceleration in the MICE sector, framed within the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Programa Primer de Catalunya Emprèn, which will be launched in mid-December at Tecnoredessa’s facilities in the Tecnoparc Building. This training program in entrepreneurial and technological initiatives applicable to the business tourism sector will have virtual and augmented reality as its central axis and will combine training with teamwork to seek innovative projects that can be applied to the organization of trade fairs, conventions, or congresses.

Training and support

The objective is to have between 10 and 15 participants who, over two and a half months, will receive 100 hours of specialized training in virtual and augmented reality applied to the business tourism sector, in entrepreneurship based on the Lean Start-up methodology, and in transversal competencies. It is not a requirement to have a prior business idea to participate in the program. During the training, Design Thinking sessions will be held to stimulate project ideas that may arise around the opportunities presented by firaReus. The program will feature top-level teaching professionals recognized in the field of entrepreneurship and leading companies in the development of technological projects related to virtual and augmented reality. After the training, the Enginy program will provide 60 hours of specialized support to each of the projects developed during the training, in order to create an initial prototype of the ideas, which can be presented at the final session of the program. This will consist of a Marketplace where potential clients, collaborators, and suppliers can propose to the participants to give continuity to their projects. The program Enginy: Acceleration in the MICE sector, is fully subsidized and will combine in-person and online sessions. Those interested in participating can register through the Autoocupació website or by contacting us at 93 490 88 60.
