The EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment will contribute 2.3 million euros to boost entrepreneurship in vulnerable communities.

  • Young Entrepreneurs Succeed (YES!) will engage 1,600 young people with the aim of creating and growing their own businesses.
  • Autoocupació joins a project that brings together expert and beneficiary organizations from 6 EU countries.

With the aim of engaging unemployed young people to enter the labor market and promoting entrepreneurship, EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment has awarded an international project called Young Entrepreneurs Succeed (YES!), to which 2.3 million euros will be allocated over the next 3 years.

The EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment aims to complement existing funding for youth employment initiatives from the European Union (EU) by contributing 60 million euros to support international initiatives that promote sustainable and quality youth employment.

Young Entrepreneurs Succeed (YES!) is an alliance involving 8 public and private institutions from 6 EU countries with extensive experience in promoting entrepreneurship among vulnerable young people. These include regional development agencies, NGOs, universities, and consultancies that act as expert, implementation, or dissemination partners for the program. Autoocupació will develop the YES! program in Spain.

It is expected that 1,600 young people who are not in education, employment, or training from Greece, Poland, Italy, and Spain will receive training, support, access to funding, and mentoring to create and develop their own businesses or find new employment. In the European Union, there are still more than 6 million young people who are not in education, employment, or training.

The YES! program partners will work together to analyze the needs of the target group and the existing gaps in the provision, design, and implementation of financial and non-financial services for vulnerable young entrepreneurs. The partners will measure and share the social impact of the project. Once evaluated, these new services will be transferred and scaled globally through the Youth Business International network, with members in over 50 countries.
