Euronews selects Albert Colomer as 2017 Business Personality

  • Albert Colomer is the current director of Reempresa and president of the Private Foundation for the Promotion of Self-Employment of Catalonia.
Albert Colomer, director of the Reempresa Centre of Catalonia and president of Autoocupació, has been chosen as Business Personality of the Year by the audience of the Euronews channel. The European channel asked its followers via social media to vote for the person they considered the personality of the year 2017 in fields as diverse as innovation, culture, the business world, the European Union, or sports. Colomer has obtained 51% of the votes in the business category, competing with other personalities such as Tuomas Mustonen, CEO of PAPTIC, who developed ecological bags, Lisa Lang, founder of the haute couture and technology company Elektrocouture, Ann-Charlotte Söderlund Björk, a lawyer specializing in intellectual property, and Philip Oosterlinck, a consultant for DYSO, an organization that helps European companies survive.

The director of Reempresa emphasizes that “the award is shared with everyone who has made 2017 a great year for the program” and also with “all the transferring and re-entrepreneurial individuals who have found in Reempresa a viable alternative to start a business or pass on an operating company.” The recognition coincides with the 2017 European Enterprise Promotion Award from the European Commission that Reempresa received a few weeks ago, which recognizes innovative policies at national, local, or regional levels that promote the establishment and growth of businesses.
