The Intermèdia Locals grant scheme, part of the Amunt Persianes program, aims to boost economic activity in vacant premises in the city of Barcelona. It does so by formalizing rental contracts under advantageous conditions for both the owner and the tenant, subsidizing owners with up to €3,000.

Requirements

Requirements for Owners:
  • Must own ground-floor premises located in the city of Barcelona that have been vacant for at least 12 consecutive months up to the time of the intermediation request.
  • The premises must be free of debts such as property tax or waste collection fees.
Requirements for Tenants:
  • Must undergo an interview regarding their Business Plan or Consolidation Plan to explain the economic activity they will develop in the premises.

Eligible Actions and Expenses

Once the rental agreement has been concluded under the Intermèdia Locals conditions, the property owner can apply for grants of up to €3,000 for expenses related to:
  • Expenses for contracting civil liability insurance or rent guarantee insurance for the premises.
  • Expenses related to works or adaptations of the premises, which must be carried out with the corresponding permits or licenses.
  • Expenses related to utility connections for the premises.
