On April 1, the Private Foundation for the Promotion of Self-Employment of Catalonia appointed Miriam Planella as the new delegate of the Autoocupació branch in Girona. After a seven-year career at the Foundation as a training consultant for the Girona branch, Planella highlighted her enthusiasm and motivation to continue the expansion that Autoocupació is currently undergoing, particularly by leveraging new virtual channels to reach the entire Girona region. With over 20 years of professional experience in the administration and training departments of various companies, Miriam Planella takes on the challenge of providing positive and motivating leadership to the Autoocupació Girona team, contributing to the growth and recognition of the Foundation.   About Autoocupació Autoocupació is a private non-profit foundation whose mission is to promote self-employment as an attractive alternative for pursuing vocations and professional development, providing individuals with access to the resources needed to create and consolidate their businesses. Autoocupació provides guidance, advisory, training, financing, intermediation, and support services at no cost to entrepreneurs from its offices in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona, in collaboration with national and international public and private institutions. Since 1986, Autoocupació has supported the creation of more than 5,000 new companies and over 10,000 new jobs. In 2020 alone, more than 1,800 students—including active workers, those on furlough (ERTO), and the unemployed—were trained through virtual and remote formats.
