New edition of the Lluís Carulla Award for cultural entrepreneurship

February 5, 2024

The Lluís Carulla Foundation is launching a new edition of the Lluís Carulla Award. This is an award and a cultural entrepreneurship program that aims to train, promote, and make viable cultural projects and ideas that transform and improve Catalan society.

Who can apply?

Entrepreneurs with a cultural project that has the will and capacity for social transformation linked to a specific challenge.

What are the phases of the award?

  1. The Academy
From all the applications submitted, a maximum of 20 will be selected to enter the Academy. These twenty projects will take part in various intensive workshops using an experiential and creative methodology, with the aim of providing entrepreneurs with practical knowledge to improve their projects. The Academy will conclude with a presentation session where the projects will be showcased. There, the selection committee, in which Autoocupació also participates, will choose the 10 finalist projects, which will move on to the second incubation phase.
  1. Incubation
During this phase, the 10 finalist projects will receive personalized support to accelerate their cultural capacity to offer artistic solutions to a social challenge and to work on their economic viability. Autoocupació will work, together with Netmentora, on the economic viability of the projects. During this phase, there will be mentors accompanying the projects, as well as networking spaces among the finalists. The 10 finalist entrepreneurs participating in this phase will receive a €1,000 grant to facilitate their dedication to the award.
  1. Financial endowment and delivery
The Lluís Carulla Prize jury will select two winning projects from among the 10 developed during the incubation phase. In October 2024, the finalists will defend their proposals.
  1. Expansion
The two winning projects will receive cultural and business support for two years. During this period, a specialized consultancy will evaluate the impact of the winning projects.
