Grants for female entrepreneurs in the ICT sector

April 13, 2021

The Government has approved the regulatory framework for a new line of grants to promote female entrepreneurship and leadership in the digital sphere. These grants are intended to help consolidate technology-based startups founded and led by women that are in the initial phase of their business activity.

Beneficiaries

Eligible beneficiaries include companies established in Catalonia that are between one and three years old since their incorporation, and in which at least one woman participated in the founding team and is currently part of the management team.

Amount

The amount of the grants awarded will be a minimum of 15,000 euros and a maximum of 35,000 euros per project.

Considerations

In the evaluation of the projects, the leadership position of women in the entrepreneurial team will be taken into account, as well as the business plan submitted. Consideration will also be given to whether companies are headed by women, whether decision-making and management bodies are gender-balanced, and the plans for promoting female talent, as well as the innovation and impact of the project.

Eligible actions also include the activities necessary for the development of the business plan, such as prototyping, design, performance verification, product testing, the development of pilot lines, and other innovation-oriented activities to obtain funding and access the market.
