Quebec, May 13, 2019. – The
Quebec City Convention Centre hosted the eighth International Business Transfer Summit this past Tuesday. This summit facilitates the exchange of best practices among professionals in the field of business transfer, as well as promoting debate on the importance of business succession in the 21st-century economy.
The
Business Succession Centre of Catalonia, which in 2017 received the
European Enterprise Promotion Award from the European Commission, was one of the guests invited to participate in the international expert debate to present the state of business succession in Catalonia and the challenges of the service for the coming years, led by
Albert Colomer, director of Reempresa and president of Autoocupació. In addition to Colomer, representatives from Belgium, France, and the United States also participated in the discussion.

In his speech, Colomer also emphasized that “75% of the companies purchased through
Reempresa have increased their turnover, and 31% have hired new workers after the business purchase,” highlighting the commitment of the
Business Succession Centre of Catalonia to fostering the growth of the country’s small and medium-sized enterprises.
The director of Reempresa was also able to exchange views and opinions on different support policies for business succession with the Minister of Economy and Innovation of Quebec, Pierre Fitzgibbon, who presided over the summit’s opening ceremony.
